Embroidered Collage

5"x7" embroidery on stretched canvas.  When I look at this piece I just feel balanced and centered, hence the name, despite it not being symmetrical.  I used pulled thread techniques to distort the central fabric and it makes a wonderful textural contrast to the smooth glass of the focal bead.  June 2006
